Here are my favorite looks from the Spring 2011 Versus collection shown at Milan Fashion Week. The thing that I love about these looks is that they display yet bring forward the idea of the school girl that Gianni Versace himself was in love with. The collection was shown on a green-grassed field, much like the ones you find at college...such a great back drop to the clothes. The green tones of the runway and the pop colors in the tartan prints played beautifully off one another.

I was looking at a book today by Santo D'Orazio that was published in 2006 and it made me think of the Versus Collection for Spring 2011 designed by Christopher Kane under the direction of Donatella Versace. The book, entitled "Katlick School" shows erotic and flirtation pictures of the Catholic schoolgirl in uniform. The iconic image of the blazer, the sweater, the immaculate white shirt, the pleated skirt, the knee socks and athletic shoes are seen on a beautiful Latina schoolgirl named Kat. Santo is such a talented photographer and his photographs are so iconic that they transcend the paper that they are printed on. It is definitely on a list of favorites!
