Good Girl Gone Bad - Lanvin Spring 2011 Ad Campaign

Shot in a very similar style to the Juergen Teller photographs, but upping the anti on glam, Steven Meisel has composed some amazing shots for the Lanvin Spring 2011 ad campaign, featuring models Kinga Rajzak and Iselin Steiro.  The title "Good Girl Gone Bad" is in reference to the sweet docile girl yet strong woman that walked down the catwalk.  She seems to have tossed her 'Miss goody two shoes' for a much more dominatrix/drama queen stilettos.  Needless to say, everyone is talking about this campaign!  Bravo Elber Albaz, the Creative Director and genius behind the clothes and kudos to Steven Meisel, who like Kate Moss, never seems to take a bad photo!

Givenchy's Latest Ad Campaign

Daphne Groeneveld is one of the three girls chosen to be made over as "Albinos" for the latest Givenchy Spring 2011 ad campaign.  Mariacarla Boscono, of course, and Iris Strubegger are the other two models photographed by duo Mert & Marcus.  The images, starkly white are very romantic, have a very ghostly and vintage quality to them.  The photography reminds me of the famous black and white photograph's of Richard Avedon.

Eleganza di Vita - January Jones in Versace Spring 2011 Ad Campaign

The first shots by Mario Testino for Versace's Spring 2011 ad campaign show this new Versace vixen in very 60's Hollywood hair and make-up.  Mad Men gone Versace?  Yes,  and add a little sex, a.k.a January Jones in accessories......and nothing else and you have a very iconic woman, the one that Donatella Versace feels very comfortable designing for.  

Some of the shots made me think of Gisele Bündchen, the brazilian supermodel who has been shots many times in Versace ads.  I like how clean, sleek, modern and timeless the photographs look.  They definitely capture a moment which is now, but can also be 10 years from now. Great job Testino!

To end on another Versace note, Donatella has designed another fragrance, and I like the name of this one because it goes back to the DNA of the company with the name VANITAS.  Here is the video advertisement featuring model of the moment Lindsey Wixson.

It was definitely a nod to the 70's when Bianca Jagger showed up to the British Fashion Awards wearing a kaftan, designer unknown, as I searched through many articles on this event to see if anyone gave mention to the creation. Were people afraid to ask?  I think that she looked amazing.  It is such an iconic piece for such an iconic fashion person to wear, especially for Bianca Jagger.  The colors looked amazing on her skin and she accessorized it perfectly, of course. 

I couldn't help but think of Amber Valetta in the Spring 2000 Versace show in Milan.  Right?  It was the second-to-last exit in the show and the sexy and sizzling ad campaign shot by Steven Meisel.

The perfect moment to revive the "Jungle" look.....Jungle Fever anyone?

January Jones Sure to Be Seen in Fringe for Versace Ad Campaign for Spring 2011

Some of the most beautiful dresses Milan Fashion week are by Donatella Versace and who better to wear them in the Ad Campaign for Spring 2011 but Mad Men star January Jones.  The campaign is set to be shot by the amazing Mario Testino.  

It is no surprise that Donatella has chosen January. She has been showing up to red carpet events and parties looking stunning in some of the most expensive gowns from the Versace and Atelier Versace collections. The two met on the set of a magazine shoot for Elle US and the rest was history.  

Mario Testino has shot some of the most memorable ad campaign for Versace, including the one in the 90's one starring Madonna.  I can't wait to see how this match translates in the glossies!

Today is my 100th post! And what better way to celebrate than with the new ad campaign for Prada Spring 2011, which to me looks very festive.  I love the way that Steven Meisel captured the Spanish influence in a very chic way.  The colors of the clothes and the models are great and Miuccia does tend to keep her Spring campaigns very clean and simple when it comes to background and setting.  It looks great!  Enjoy.  

Gisele the New Face at Balenciaga?

Rumors may be confirmed according to WWD!  Gisele Bündchen is said to be the new face of  Balenciaga and will be featured in the Spring 2011 ad campaign shot in New York by photographer Steven Meisel.  

Gisele, who is very selective as to who's runways and ad campaigns she appears in was most recently in the Balenciaga Spring runway show during Paris Fashion Week appearing in the finale exit.

Steven Meisel is a living legend and you can be sure that the Balenciaga ad campaign will be one of the best for the next coming season. I cannot wait to see it!

The Honor of Wearing it First - ADR's Photoshoot Teaser in Lanvin for H&M

Ok, Brilliant, No Amazing!  Are they out of their minds?  No, they are so right on.  H&M sent Anna Dello Russo the entire Lanvin for H&M collection to shoot.  Now you would think that it was for Vogue Japan, the magazine for which Anna is the Editor at Large and Creative Consultant......but NO, it was for her to shoot and put on her blog, annadellorusso.com.  This is a FIRST folks that H&M has chosen any editor or blog to feature the clothes, shoes, accessories, handbags, jewelry in anticipation of the launch.  

As ADR puts it, 'I was shocked that it was for my BLOG! I found this communication really FRESH and FORWARD cause the samples was available only for online editorials starting from November 4th.'

Preview Kate Moss for Topshop Autumn 2010

Today's post is a short preview into Kate Moss's Autumn 2010 line for Topshop set to launch online November 2, 2010 on Topshop.com.  The video is so easy to watch with Kate Moss directing a few of her friends in a Personal Shopping Suite playing dress up while sipping champagne and eating cupcakes......exactly what one would imagine doing if you were one of Kate's friend! The clothes are always easy, very fashion, and a lot of fun.  There are always elements in the collection of things that she loves; a Marianne Faithful moment, a 70's moment, a Bohemian moment and of course, a 30's evening dress moment.  All of these things are signature Kate and keep the droves of fashionistas coming back for more.  Sir Philip Green, the British billionaire who owns Topshop was definitely brilliant in bringing these two forces together.  Kate has such an identifiable style that every woman is after.  Of all the people photographed, Kate's photos are timeless as is her beauty and style.
